The 56th session of the Commission on Narcotic Drugs is currently taking place in Vienna (11-15 March). Every year, the Commission brings together Member States and other stakeholders to take stock of the world situation in terms of global drug trafficking; to discuss follow up on the 20th Special Session of the UN General Assembly on countering the world drug problem; and to decide on a coordinated global response. The Commission is also mandated to monitor the implementation of three international conventions on drugs control. (...)
