International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture - Fourth Session of the Governing Body

The fourth session of the Governing Body (GB) of the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture (ITPGR) will be held from 14-18 March 2011, in Nusa Dua, Bali, Indonesia. On the occasion, the Government of Indonesia is organizing a Ministerial Conference, to be held on 11 March 2011, which is expected to adopt the Bali ministerial declaration on biodiversity, climate change and food security.
This is the Governing Body’s first meeting since the adoption of the Nagoya Protocol on Access to Genetic Resources and the Fair and Equitable Sharing of Benefits Arising from their Utilization (ABS) to the Convention on Biological Diversity, and is expected to attract significant interest from the agriculture and environment sectors.
